Jurong Drive-in

Jurong Drive-in was Singapore's first and only open-air drive-in theatre, inaugurated in 1971 with a capacity for 900 cars and a viewing gallery for 308 people. Inspired by Australian drive-ins, it featured a large screen and offered a unique cinema experience with vendors selling snacks and a playground for children. Initially popular, attendance declined in the 1980s due to competition from television and new cinemas, leading to its closure in 1985. Today, the site is part of the Jurong Lake Gardens and is featured on the Jurong Heritage Trail, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers exploring Singapore's cinematic history.
