Portway House

Portway House is a historic Grade I listed town house located in Warminster, Wiltshire, England, built in 1722 for wealthy clothier Edward Middlecott. This impressive structure, made of Bath stone ashlar, features a central seven-bay block with a basement and three storeys, flanked by two-storey wings likely added in the late 19th century. Originally serving as a dower house for Longleat from 1820 to 1920, it later became the town's public library before being converted into apartments. Visitors can appreciate its stately architecture and notable ironwork, which has earned it recognition in architectural literature.
