Eagles Building (Lorain, Ohio)

The Eagles Building, located in Lorain, Ohio, is a historic site that served as the home for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #343, founded in 1903. This Renaissance Revival style structure, completed in 1918, features a striking terra cotta facade adorned with Roman arches and Corinthian pilasters. Notably, it was built with a concrete frame due to a steel shortage during World War I and has withstood significant events, including the 1924 Lorain Tornado. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and has recently been reinstated as a community hub after disbanding in the 1980s.
