The Morgan Library & Museum

The Morgan Library & Museum began as the private library of financier J. Pierpont Morgan and was opened to the public in 1924. The complex includes the original 1906 McKim-designed library building and modern expansions, and it houses collections of rare books, manuscripts, drawings, and early printed materials assembled by Morgan. The Morgan is known for rotating exhibitions that highlight its holdings, including illuminated manuscripts and important literary and historical documents.
