Clayton High School Auditorium

The Clayton High School Auditorium, located in Clayton, Oklahoma, is a historic structure built during the Great Depression as part of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) project between 1936-1937. This unique auditorium, one of only two WPA buildings designed solely for auditorium use, showcases Art Deco architectural elements with its angular lines and excellent stonework. The single-story T-shaped building features a flat roof, recessed entryways, and grouped windows, all surrounded by a well-maintained drainage ditch. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, highlighting its architectural significance and historical importance in the region.
