UAW-Ford National Programs Center

The UAW-Ford National Programs Center, located in the heart of Downtown Detroit, Michigan, is a striking high-rise building originally constructed as the Veterans Memorial Building between 1948 and 1950. Designed in the International style by the architectural firm Harley, Ellington and Day, the building features a stunning marble exterior and a notable 30-foot high Victory Eagle sculpture by Marshall Fredericks. The center includes a 450-seat conference theater and a 200-seat lecture hall, making it a hub for events and gatherings. In 1995, the United Auto Workers (UAW) began leasing the building, which underwent significant remodeling to accommodate their offices. The center is situated near key landmarks such as Huntington Place and Hart Plaza, and it reflects Detroit's rich history and architectural heritage, having received recognition from the American Institute of Architects for its design.
