Robert Smith Mortuary

The Robert Smith Mortuary, also known as the Greek-Shears Mortuary, is a historic building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. Constructed in 1930, this 2+1⁄2-story brick structure showcases the Mission Revival architectural style, featuring distinctive arcaded windows, an esplanade, and a steeply pitched red tile roof. The mortuary is connected to a former dwelling built around 1890, which was remodeled in 1930 to harmonize with the new construction. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
