Massachusetts State House (Beacon Hill)

Designed by architect Charles Bulfinch and completed in 1798, the Massachusetts State House is the state capitol and a defining landmark atop Beacon Hill. Its gilded dome is a prominent feature of Boston's skyline and has been regilded multiple times since the 19th century. The building contains historic legislative chambers and public rooms reflecting late-18th- and 19th-century civic architecture.
