Gloria Dei (Old Swedes') Church

Gloria Dei was founded by Swedish settlers in 1677 and served the New Sweden colony. The present church building dates to the early 1700s (commonly dated circa 1700–1707) and is the oldest surviving church building in Pennsylvania. Gloria Dei is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains an active Episcopal congregation. The church is located on the Delaware River waterfront in South Philadelphia.
