Yasuda Auditorium

Yasuda Auditorium is a historic building and clock tower located at the heart of the University of Tokyo's Hongō campus. Completed in 1925, it was funded by businessman Yasuda Zenjirō and designed in the Gothic Revival style by architects Yoshikazu Uchida and Hideto Kishida. The auditorium has served as a central venue for special events and graduation ceremonies, although it has not been used for such purposes since the student protests of 1968-69, which marked a significant moment in Japanese history.
