Giants of the Savanna mixed-species habitat at Dallas Zoo

Giants of the Savanna is a large habitat installation at the Dallas Zoo that opened in May 2011 as a major capital project for the institution. The exhibit was designed to house African elephants, reticulated giraffes and various African ungulates together in expansive, naturalistic enclosures with extended sightlines for visitors. The installation replaced older exhibits with a landscape-scale approach emphasizing mixed-species viewing and animal movement.
