Liebig 34

Liebig 34 was a notable anarchist squat located at Liebigstraße 34 in Berlin's Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, occupied in 1990 and evicted in 2020. It served as a vibrant anarcha-feminist housing co-operative featuring the L34-Bar and an infoshop named Daneben. The squat was established during the Peaceful Revolution and became a significant space for feminist activism within the counterculture. After a lengthy legal battle, the eviction on October 9, 2020, involved a massive police presence and led to dramatic scenes as residents were removed. The site remains a symbol of Berlin's rich history of activism and community resilience.
