Rothko Chapel

Rothko Chapel is a non-denominational, contemplative chapel founded by John and Dominique de Menil and completed in 1971. The interior houses 14 large-scale paintings by Mark Rothko and is intended as a space for meditation and interfaith services. The chapel hosts regular public programs and has been influential in conversations about contemporary sacred architecture and art.
