Massachusetts State House - Charles Bulfinch design

The Massachusetts State House on Beacon Hill was designed by Charles Bulfinch and completed in 1798, serving as the state's seat of government since then. Its original wooden dome was later covered in copper and first gilded with gold leaf in 1874. The building's brick and granite construction and early federal-period details make it a prominent example of late-18th-century civic architecture in Boston.
