Fairfield Offices

The Fairfield Heritage Centre, located on Govan Road in Glasgow, Scotland, was originally built as the offices for the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. Ltd. between 1889 and 1891. After serving as the main offices for various shipyard owners until 2001, the building underwent a significant restoration and reopened in 2013 as a heritage centre and commercial office space. Visitors can explore the heritage area, which showcases over 150 years of shipbuilding history through interactive exhibits and artefacts. The centre highlights key events such as the launch of Cunard liners and the shipyard's role during the world wars. Designed by the architectural firm Honeyman and Keppie, the building features a blend of Italianate and Beaux Arts styles, with notable sculptures adorning its entrance. The centre is free to visit and is conveniently located near Elder Park and public transport links.
