Burgh Westra is a historic estate located near Gloucester, Virginia, built between 1842 and 1851 in the Gothic Revival style. Spanning 2,400 acres, the property features a main house, original dairy, carriage house, guest cottage, and beautifully designed gardens. The estate has a rich history, having served as a hospital during the Civil War and being associated with notable figures such as Dr. Philip Taliaferro and General William B. Taliaferro. The estate remains in the Taliaferro family, believed to be the oldest continual ownership in Gloucester County, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
