Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores)

Mission Dolores, founded in 1776, is the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco and was established as one of the Spanish missions in California. The site includes the original adobe mission buildings, an adjacent cemetery, and a parish church that continues to serve an active congregation while also operating as a historic site. The mission contains mission-era and later religious artworks and is a frequent subject of study for California colonial history.
