Hôtel du Timbre

The Hôtel du Timbre, located at 9–13, rue de la Banque in Paris, is a historic public building originally established in the mid-19th century for the production of stamped paper. Designed by architect Paul Lelong and completed by Victor Baltard, it features a striking central pavilion adorned with allegorical sculptures representing Security and Law. The building played a crucial role in the administration of stamp duties until 1973 and later served as a tax office until 2023. Recently auctioned and purchased by an insurance company, it is set to be transformed into a mixed-use space, including offices, apartments, and retail, making it an exciting site for both tourists and researchers interested in Parisian history and urban development.
