Petersen House - the place where Lincoln died

After being shot at Ford’s Theatre on the evening of April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was carried across the street to the Petersen House (also called the 'Lincoln Death House'), where he died the following morning at 7:22 a.m. on April 15, 1865. The Petersen House parlor and its role in Lincoln’s final hours are documented in contemporary accounts and are interpreted for visitors by the National Park Service. The house stands adjacent to Ford’s Theatre and is preserved as a historic site in Washington, D.C.
