Tintagel Colombo

Tintagel Colombo is a historic boutique hotel located in the Cinnamon Gardens area of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Originally designed in 1929 by Homi Billimoria for Dr. Lucian de Zilwa, the building has a rich history, including serving as a residence for the influential Bandaranaike family. Notably, S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike, who became prime minister in 1956, was shot on its verandah in 1959. His widow, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, the world's first female prime minister, lived there until her death in 2000. Converted into a boutique hotel in 2005 by Shanth Fernando, Tintagel features 10 luxurious suites, two restaurants, and a library with 6,000 books. The hotel has hosted notable guests, including Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, during their visit to Sri Lanka in 2013.
