Place of Peace

The Place of Peace is a serene Jōdo Shinshū temple located on the campus of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Originally built in Japan in 1984, the temple was dismantled and shipped to the U.S. in 2004, where it was reconstructed to serve as a space for education and reflection on the concept of oneness. The temple features a calligraphy scroll by Koichi Tohei, emphasizing the presence of a universal spirit. Dedicated in 2008, it stands as a testament to cultural exchange and community support, with contributions from various individuals and organizations.
