Spring Valley Farm

Spring Valley Farm, also known as the Richard Dickson Farm, is a historic site located near Union in Monroe County, West Virginia. Established in 1793, the main house started as a two-story log cabin and was expanded between 1837 and 1841 into a larger two-story structure featuring distinctive brick chimneys and a charming two-story porch with Chinese Chippendale railings. The farm includes several historic outbuildings, such as a smokehouse, granary, and stables, reflecting various architectural styles and periods. Recognized for its historical significance, Spring Valley Farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, with an expansion in 1992, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and rural history.
