Edgewood (Stanleytown, Virginia)

Edgewood is a historic manor house located in Stanleytown, Virginia, built around 1830 in the Greek Revival style. Notable for its Palladian three-part form, it features a central two-story section flanked by two wings, all constructed with Flemish bond brick. The house includes six fireplaces, a one-story front porch, and has undergone significant renovations, including a major restoration in the 1950s that modernized its amenities. Originally built for John Redd, a veteran of the Battle of Yorktown, Edgewood has a rich history and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007, making it a unique attraction for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and local history.
