Congress Center

The Congress Center, located in Portland, Oregon, is a striking skyscraper completed in 1980 and currently the fifteenth tallest building in the city. Originally named the Orbanco Building, it has undergone several name changes, reflecting its evolving history and tenants. Designed by the renowned firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building features a distinctive dark glass facade that contrasts with Portland's lighter architectural styles. It earned Gold LEED certification in 2012 for its commitment to sustainability. Visitors can appreciate the restored terracotta arches from the former Congress Hotel, which once occupied the site, adding a historical touch to this modern structure.
