Information Technology Park, Nepal

The Information Technology Park, located in Kavrepalanchowk District, Nepal, is the country's only IT Park, positioned about 28 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. Established in April 2003 with an investment of approximately 2 million USD, the park aims to promote information technology and services, potentially creating around 15,000 job opportunities. Despite its ambitious goals, the park has faced challenges, including the departure of initial investors like IBM and Javra Software, leading to its underutilization. Covering an area of 12 hectares, the park includes various facilities such as commercial and administrative buildings, and it represents a significant effort by the Nepalese government to enhance the socio-economic landscape through technology.
