Custom House Tower

The Custom House Tower at 3 McKinley Square was built as a tower addition to Boston's 19th-century Custom House; the tower was designed by Peabody & Stearns and completed in 1915. Upon its completion the tower made the building the tallest in Boston, and it remained the city's tallest building until the Prudential Tower was completed in 1964. The original Custom House base dates from the mid-19th century and is executed in granite with Greek Revival detailing.
