Make Way for Ducklings sculpture

Sculptor Nancy Schön created bronze figures of Mrs. Mallard and eight ducklings that were installed in the Boston Public Garden in 1987. The work was inspired by Robert McCloskey's 1941 children's book Make Way for Ducklings. The statues sit on an island in the Public Garden lagoon near the Arlington Street entrance and are a longstanding, frequently photographed Boston landmark.
