Equestrian Statue of George Washington (Henry Kirke Brown)

The bronze equestrian statue of George Washington in Union Square was created by sculptor Henry Kirke Brown and installed in 1856. It was among the earliest large-scale equestrian bronzes erected in the United States and stands at the northern end of Union Square Park. The statue has long served as a historic public monument and meeting point within the park.
