Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption (St. Mary's Cathedral)

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, commonly called St. Mary’s Cathedral, is the principal church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco and features a modernist, saddle-shaped concrete design completed in 1971. The cathedral’s distinctive roof and interior design distinguish it from traditional basilica-style cathedrals, and it hosts liturgical services, concerts, and civic events. The building is located in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood near the civic center complex.
