Bourda

Bourda, officially known as Georgetown Cricket Club Ground, is a historic cricket venue located in Georgetown, Guyana. Established in 1884, it is the oldest cricket ground in the Caribbean and uniquely situated below sea level, surrounded by a moat for flood prevention. The ground has hosted numerous international matches, including 30 Test matches and 10 One Day Internationals, and is known for its passionate and sometimes volatile crowds. Notable for its cantilever stands and lively atmosphere, particularly at The Mound, Bourda has a rich history, including memorable matches that have seen pitch invasions and dramatic finishes. It remains a key site for cricket in the region, despite the emergence of newer stadiums.
