Lincoln Cottage at the Soldiers' Home

President Abraham Lincoln used the Soldiers' Home cottage at this address as a summer retreat during his presidency and held meetings there. Historians note he drafted portions of the Emancipation Proclamation and conducted war-related business while at the cottage.
