Gedung Kuning

Gedung Kuning, or the Yellow Mansion, is a historic Malay residence located in the vibrant Kampong Glam district of Singapore. Originally built in the 1850s as an annexe to the Istana Kampong Glam, it has a rich history, having served as the home of Haji Yusoff, a notable Malayo-Javanese merchant, and his family for four generations. The mansion features distinctive architectural elements typical of shophouses and has been restored as part of the Malay Heritage Centre. Today, it houses a halal buffet restaurant named Permata, which offers a modern take on Nusantara cuisine, and serves as a venue for various events, making it a unique destination for tourists and researchers interested in Singapore's cultural heritage.
