John Buckingham House

The John Buckingham House, located at 33–35 Waban Street in Newton Corner, Massachusetts, is a historic example of Second Empire architecture, built around 1864 for upper middle-class commuters to Boston. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure features a distinctive bell-cast mansard roof, fish-scale slate shingles, and elegant architectural details such as denticulated cornices and bracketed porches. The house was owned by John Buckingham, a local Unitarian pastor, and remained in his family until the 1970s. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
