Pepys Library

The Pepys Library at Magdalene College, Cambridge, houses the personal collection of Samuel Pepys, a notable 17th-century bibliophile. Bequeathed to the college in 1703, the library contains over 3,000 volumes, including Pepys's famous diary and significant historical manuscripts. Visitors can explore remarkable items such as naval records from Pepys's tenure as Secretary to the Admiralty, Isaac Newton's works, and a vast collection of printed ballads. The library is located in the architecturally striking Pepys Building, which features a neo-classical facade and is open to the public in the afternoons from Monday to Saturday.
