Mission San Francisco de la Espada (Mission Espada)

Mission Espada is the southernmost of the San Antonio missions and features an 18th-century acequia (irrigation) system and the Espada Aqueduct, rare surviving examples of Spanish colonial hydraulic engineering. The aqueduct and associated irrigation works were built to supply water to the mission fields and remain a prominent historic feature; the aqueduct is recognized for its historic significance. Mission Espada is included in the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
