Brolæggerstræde 2

Brolæggerstræde 2 is a historic four-storey apartment building located at the intersection of Brolæggerstræde and Badstuestræde in Copenhagen's Old Town. Originally constructed in 1797 for a tea merchant, the building has a rich history marked by its survival of two major fires in the 18th century. It features a unique trompe-l'œil mural created by artist Otto Frello, who owned the building from 1966 until 2016. The architecture showcases a blend of historical styles with six bays facing Brolæggerstræde and a chamfered corner bay. The building was listed as a protected site in 1950, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Copenhagen's architectural heritage.
