Coit Tower observation deck

Coit Tower was funded by Lillie Hitchcock Coit as a civic memorial and opened in 1933. The tower's observation deck provides 360-degree views of San Francisco, including Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge, and the Transamerica Pyramid. Inside the base are 1934 murals painted by roughly 25 artists as part of New Deal public-art programs.
