Grundtvig House

The Grundtvig House, located in Præstø, Denmark, is a historic complex named after the influential Danish theologian and poet N. F. S. Grundtvig, who resided there in the early 1820s. Built between 1820 and 1821 for baker Frantz Dems, the house features a distinctive long one-storey brick design with yellow rendering and a black-painted foundation. It was officially protected as a historic site in 1982. The building has undergone several expansions, notably by master builder Niels Hansen in the mid-19th century, who added a side wing that once housed a brewery. Visitors can appreciate its architectural significance and learn about its connection to Danish cultural history.
