Dumbarton Oaks - Historic house museum and famed formal gardens

Dumbarton Oaks is a historic estate and research institution known for its Byzantine and Pre-Columbian art collections and its landscaped gardens. The estate was developed by Robert Woods Bliss and Mildred Barnes Bliss in the early 20th century and later endowed to Harvard University as Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection.
