Bishop Worthington Residence

The Bishop Worthington Residence, built in 1885 in Omaha, Nebraska, was the home of Bishop George Worthington of the Episcopal Church and served as a significant social and religious hub during Omaha's pioneer era. Designed by architect Gordon W. Lloyd in the high Queen Anne style, the mansion features 26 rooms, including a grand staircase, library, and devotional room. Initially surrounded by other opulent mansions, it later transitioned to serve as the Presbyterian Hospital and the Lutheran Home for the Aged before becoming rental units known as The White House Apartments. Efforts are underway by local preservationists to restore and protect this historic landmark amidst a rapidly changing neighborhood.
