Chicago Bee Building

The Chicago Bee Building, located in the historic Black Metropolis-Bronzeville District on Chicago's South Side, is a significant landmark that originally served as the headquarters for the Chicago Bee newspaper, founded by African American entrepreneur Anthony Overton in 1926. This Art Deco style building, recognized as a Chicago Landmark since 1998, reflects the rich cultural heritage of the area. After the newspaper ceased operations in the early 1940s, the building housed various businesses, including the Overton Hygienic Company, a well-known cosmetics firm.
