Parachute Jump (non-operational Coney Island tower)

The Parachute Jump is a 250-foot steel tower at Coney Island originally built for the 1939 New York World's Fair and later installed at Steeplechase Park. The ride ceased operation decades ago and the tower remained a non-operational, rusting landmark that was landmarked by the city and later stabilized and lit as a visual landmark. It is widely recognized as a relic of Coney Island's early amusement-park era.
