Tropicana Las Vegas (1950s tropical resort design)

The Tropicana opened in 1957 as a tropical-themed resort and is a surviving example of 1950s-era low-rise, garden-oriented Strip architecture in a city later dominated by high-rise developments. Its original layout emphasized landscaped open spaces and a porte-cochere entry, elements that contrasted with later high-density resort towers.
