Strawbridge-Shepherd House

The Strawbridge-Shepherd House, located in Springfield, Illinois, is a beautifully preserved example of Greek Revival architecture, built around 1845 by saddle maker Thomas Strawbridge. Notable for its wide cornice trim and elegant front door features, the house underwent significant modifications in the late 19th century under Civil War veteran Charles M. Shepherd, who introduced Queen Anne elements.
