Crystal Ice Company Building

The Crystal Ice Company Building, located at 2024 North Davis Street in Pensacola, Florida, is a historic structure built in 1932 that served as a sales point for ice to travelers. Its unique design resembles a block of ice, making it one of the few remaining examples of vernacular roadside architecture in the area. Established by Guy Spearman, the Crystal Ice Company played a significant role in the local ice industry, which emerged in the late 1860s alongside the fishing sector. Despite the decline of the ice industry due to the advent of refrigeration, the building remains a notable landmark, having been added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on September 29, 1983.
