Book Tower (Louis Kamper Renaissance Revival skyscraper)

Designed by Louis Kamper and completed in 1926 for the Book family, the Book Tower is a 38-story Renaissance Revival skyscraper notable for its ornate terracotta and brick façade and richly detailed interior spaces. After decades of vacancy, the tower underwent an extensive restoration as part of the Book Tower and Book Cadillac redevelopment and reopened for mixed commercial and residential use in the early 2020s. The building is a prominent example of Detroit's early 20th-century skyscraper architecture and a key element of Washington Boulevard's historic streetscape.
