Inaugural World Series of Poker at Binion's

The World Series of Poker began in 1970 at Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas. Benny Binion invited seven top players to compete and the winner, Johnny Moss, was declared the champion by vote of the players. The event at Binion's grew into an annual multi-event tournament that became the premier series in tournament poker.
