Baltimore Coliseum

The Baltimore Coliseum, an indoor arena built in 1938, was a significant venue in Maryland's sports history, hosting the original Baltimore Bullets of the NBA from 1944 to 1954. Located near the vibrant Pennsylvania Avenue entertainment area, it had a capacity of 4,500 and initially featured roller skating events. However, it was eventually overshadowed by the Baltimore Civic Center, leading to its closure in 1961. After decades of disuse, the Coliseum was demolished in 2008, and the site is now home to the Center for Urban Families.
