Valencia Tower

The Valencia Tower, or Torre de Valencia, is a striking 26-floor residential building located in the Retiro District of Madrid, Spain. Completed in 1973, it stands at 94 meters, making it the tallest residential structure in the city at the time. Designed by architect Javier Carvajal, the tower has sparked significant controversy due to its visual impact, particularly its effect on the iconic view of the puerta de Alcalá from the plaza de Cibeles. Despite facing opposition during its construction, including complaints from local residents and temporary halts, the Valencia Tower remains a notable example of organic architecture, characterized by its unique design and prominent location near the beautiful Retiro Park.
