Savoy-Plaza Hotel (demolished 1964–65)

The Savoy-Plaza Hotel opened in 1927 at Fifth Avenue and East 58th Street as a luxury hotel. It was demolished in 1964–1965 to make way for the Olympic Tower and other commercial development. The replacement at the site is the building with the mailing address 768 Fifth Avenue. The hotel's demolition is often cited in discussions of mid-20th-century redevelopment in Manhattan.
